Default Please help! Steering issue

Ok so ill try to make this short and sweet while giving as much information as possible. I had the cv axle replaced, and while they had everything off, had them go ahead and replace the upper and lower control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar linkages, and struts in the front. Also struts in the rear. This shop said i had to take it and get an alignment done somewhere else because he didnt have the proper equipment to do so. Upon picking up my car, the steering wheel was jerking so violently i had to drive 30mph all the way home. When turning, it would almost want to keep turning without my help, causing the traction control light to flash, and then lose acceleration due to the abs engaging. I took it to a different shop, who after doing a 4 wheel alignment, tell me that its still jerking and the rear end keeps "swaying". They said it looked like the subframe had shifted but they needed to lift it and do some measurements. Then they call me and tell me they think my rack and pinion needs to be replaced.... there was NOTHING wrong with my car before i took it to the shop other than a popping cv axle. It drove perfect. Im wondering if theres something installed wrong? Is it necessary to recalibrate something after having all those parts changed? Any help would be greatly appreciated because at this point, im not going to drive it anymore than i have to. (From one shop to another, period).

What year and model GS?

I'm not sure if it would fix your issue but if it's a model that has an electric steering rack then there is a software calibration procedure.

All the available electronic/diagnostic procedures have been reset and/or calibrated and it has not fixed it. Which of the following parts, if installed incorrectly, would cause the steering wheel to randomly jerk back and forth while driving straight, throw the traction control light and cause resistance in curves?

all parts are in the front end and on both sides:
cv axle
Struts
Upper and lower control arms
inner tie rod
outer tie rod
ball joints
sway bar linkage

Its possible the first shop mistakenly damaged your car, I would take it up with them. If I left my mechanic and my car was jerking violently, I would immediately return. And dont let them try to pass the buck either, blaming the second shop.

Yes, i took it back to the first shop where the work was done. It has now been there for a full week and they still haven't contacted me or fixed the issue. Its BS because i cant even try to diagnose the problem myself with it being there, and it doesnt seem to be a priority for them because my car hasn't moved in their parking lot the whole week. I have to drive past it everyday. What legal avenues can i take if they continue this negligence?

it's good you taking it back to them and it's been a week you say we'll I probably would stop by and ask them how many people is a head of me don't rush them because they will throw your car together and it want be fixed this can lead to a court matter but see first what there next move is good luck 👍

They said they put it on the lift and everythings installed correctly. But very obviously, there is a problem. I changed the passenger side cv axle myself just a few months ago, and had zero issues afterward. When i took my car to them, the only problem it had was a popping cv axle, drivers side. Now i have this issue. I had the car jacked up and only the passenger side parts disconnected. They would've had it on a lift, and possibly driver and passenger side parts disconnected simultaneously. Im wondering if that is how the problem got started? Ive been told the alignment is good. But the steering wheel is still sitting at about 9-10 oclock when tires are straight. And the back and forth jerking of the steering wheel persists. I have to seriously focus and hold on for dear life to keep the car in between the lines. Constant correction on my part as the steering seems to have a mind of its own.

I'm wondering if they didn't screw something up with the electric powersteering rack?
