My car would not start the other day and was giving me a warning light that said my steering wheel was locked. I cranked the steering wheel so that the wheels the tires were straight. I replaced the key fob battery and the car still will not start. It would go into accessory mode and then it wouldn’t. The lights are working. The battery is fine. All of a sudden I hear a clicking sound under the hood. I was able to get the clicking sound, stopped by unlocking and locking the doors with the manual key. Now the start button will not even work. Can somebody help with some advice?
What codes are being thrown? That will help a lot.
When you turn the ignition on do you hear the steering lock trying to disengage? It sounds like a "zzzt". When you close the door with the ignition off do you hear it trying to engage? If you're able to, try wiggling the steering wheel left and right as you turn the ignition on, it might disengage the lock bar.
I wiggled the steering wheel left to right and got it to go forward so that the tires are facing forward. How do you use the OBD2 with a push button a push start the interior lights were still going on the fan was going on and then there was a clicking sound. I unlocked and locked the driver side door six times with the manual key and that stopped the clicking sound, but now the car won’t start. I replaced my key fob battery and I’m thinking maybe it’s something to do. It’s not connecting with the ECU now I don’t know.
