Default Front Wheel hub squeeky

So theres a squeak driving slowly coming from the driver front Im Assuming its my wheel hub. Ive never changed one before on this vehicle. is there anything special i should know? i dont think the front wheel hub need to be pressed in. well i hope they do not need to be pressed in at a machine shop like my old honda.

how are your brake pads? could just be the wear indicator.

nah its not the pads. i had a squeal before and it was the pads and i changed those like 4 months ago and the squeal went away. this squeak is gradually getting more and more squeaky overtime and goes away when i hard turn. pressing the brake doesn't stop the squeak so my assumption is the wheel hub. but man i checked my lexus dealer for the part and its 348$ for the left and 402$ for the right side. and its something i don't feel comfortable with a aftermarket part. Its 250$ on lexusparts. BUT i bought stabalizer links and those did NOT fit. i kept the part and bought the same part from the dealer to compare and they were different in length so i dont think i can trust them.

as long as you get a high quality aftermarket part like Timken or something, you should be fine.

Exactly. Lexus does not manufacture wheel hubs. SKF, Timken, GMB do that. Then Toyota/Lexus puts their part number on them and sells them for twice as much.

Those parts run $120 to $180 each, depending upon rwd or awd. Easy DIY job and how-to vids out there.

Jack it up and diagnose it properly first - takes less than a minute once the wheel is in the air.

Definitely properly diagnose it before buying, bad wheel hubs typically give a grinding noise not a squeak. Replaced my front wheel hubs recently and can confirm it's pretty straightforward. Detroit Axle is also high quality.

Just make sure to clean the surface and torque everything down, don't want that flying off one day. One tip I can give is before putting the wheel back on, fully seat the rotor against the hub and spin it back and forth. The heat shield bends very easily and will scrape against something. Had to bend it and check like 4x before there was no interference.

Axle Nut: 217 ft lbs
Wheel Hub Bolts: 51 ft lbs
Caliper Bolts: 58 ft lbs
