Front Struts
I'm putting in new FRONT struts. It's an 07 GS350 AWD. I swapped the coil springs over and went to put them back in. It slides up and goes right in place, but the bottom, which has a flat edge, is off by a little bit. Instead of the flat being at 12 to 6, it's more like 11 to 5, and I can't turn it at all. This is the same for both struts. They are both off just a little bit. I believe I have the strut mount on correctly, because the only other way would be to rotate it 180 degrees, since the piston has flat spots as do the mounts, and if I had them on wrong, the bottom would be facing the wrong direction entirely. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help.

You will need to compress the springs again, and rotate the upper strut mount slightly to get the proper alignment of the mount, with the bolts on it, and the cartridge. It’s got to be fairly precise.
