'09 Rx350. Looking to possibly change my struts, although it doesn't seem to be a pressing issue yet. The struts, especially the rear ones seem a bit, soft. While driving the tail end has a bit of a bounce that's starting to become noticeable to me. But only while driving. If I do that old school bounce test while parked though, it doesn't have that tell-tale give and bounce of 'bad struts'. Should I just use quick struts, or is replacing the inner shock assembly still a thing? Last strut job I did was quick struts on my ES300, although some folks on the forums recommended keeping the springs and replacing the shocks on the inside, so as to attempt to keep the original ride quality. I went with the quick struts.
On Rockauto there are Monroe, Gabriel, and FCS. Any advice on these brands? Assuming that getting something like oem would be from the dealer and cost heaven knows what I didn't bother to look. Would strut mounts be replaced as well?
Sounds like you have experience with the complete units, did you like them? I personally loath all complete strut assemblies the coils especially are junk. Best practice is use KYB struts, OEM mounts, rubber pieces can be aftermarket.
Strut mounts should be inspected and replaced if needed otherwise reuse.
No real experience other than that one job for the ES300, and in retrospect I felt I should have done the extra work, or had it done. The quickstruts I put on it were super stiff, although it was better to have that than the totally shot ones I took off. That sounds like one vote so far to not go the quickstrut route? So get only the struts and keep the original springs?

Read the suspension topics on Forum first, then ask questions if you still don't have an answer!!!
Thanks for the link iMSQ; that thread does clear it up actually. I fumbled my search apparently (tis late/early), so thanks for the work and reply. I'll be replacing only the struts then.
