I have an 06 GS300 that on occasion, will not start. Battery is fine. I have figured out that if I remove the vacuum cap just after the throttle body and spray a shot of brake cleaner in the intake, it’ll fire right up. Checked the fuel pressure with it running thinking it may be the filter (not completely sure I can rule out the pump yet) and at idle it’s around 56 psi. There are no codes other than an ocassional evap code, and I’ve replaced the gas cap twice within a year with one from Lexus. But even that code and the failure to start don’t happen together. Anyone else heard of this issue?
Could be your high pressure fuel rail sensor acting up, been hearing a lot about these failing and causing hard/ no start issues
Thanks, I’ve been worried it’s the GDI fuel pump, and I guess it could be but I nor anyone I’ve talked to has any idea of what is going on. It also died after leaving the house, with no warning, but after waiting a minute it started right back up. But still no pattern to any of this behavior.
I wonder if your internals are all carbon caked up to the point its choking the engine. You could remove the intake manifold and do a manual cleaning of the heads, and valves. Using solvents and stiff brushes! Also I would clean the throttle body and replace the spark plugs.

There is a video I posted with this intermittent problem. There is a loose connector in the high pressure fuel rails sensor. You have to read codes to be sure. If that is the case I believe just reseating the connector can do the trick.
Whats your car doing? If the car cranks, but doesnt start, then it could be a bad fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail. The signs of it bad, are when you try to start it and the car wont start, but the radiator fans kick on at full blast.
