Hi,
I recently bought a used IS250 - 2011 model. The boot wasn't opening. then after a strong pull, it opens while pushing the lid button, it works twice so I thought it was an intermittent issue as the car was parked at the dealer and the battery drained.
Now the boot wont open again, I went and googled it and tried all the below with no success:
- Valet button in the glove box ( now is set to Trunk opener)
- Disconnect the batter for different periods: 30s, 5 mins, 30 mins
- Open with the Key, manual, the key turns clockwise (90 degrees) with no success
- Open the hatch in the back seat and looked for the emergency latch release, nothing and this is weird. What if someone is locked inside the boot? no emergency release latch or strap...nothing.
- Changed the doors setting in accessory mode back and forth from all doors open with the fob to only driver's door open, still nothing the boot wont open
Please guys, I'm desperate to open the boot, Any thoughts? Neither the Fob, nor the lid button work to open the boot.

needs lubrication. Good luck.

 

Lube or the trunks been in an accident and the person who fitted, didnt properly fit it. Maybe its binding! But I would lube it first and see
