Reuse a Second-hand Lexus Certification ECU
I am looking to tap from anyone's experience who has successfully reused a second-hand Lexus Certification ECU or Smart Key Module purchased from ebay or other sources. I am about purchasing one to try an replace mine.
Can a previously used smart key ecu work with another car (with same details) with or without reprogramming?

After much research, I have to my earlier question.
Yes, used certification ECU can be re-used but it has to be reprogrammed.
You can however escape reprogramming the certification ECU by swapping the EEPROM on your faulty ECU to the used but in working condition one you bought. Then you won't have to worry about reprogramming.
I cannot be held liable for this step, proceed at your own risk.

Whats the reason for you wanting to replace the ecu? Is your ecu fried? Ecu's can be repaired, theres a service in the US that can quckly repair, test your ecu and return it in a short time and there not expensive
