Proud New Owner
Well I would like my first post to announce that I just signed the papers on a 1998 GS400 that is gold in color. It's bone stock and the previous owner obviously took excellent care of the car. This will be my first foray into the luxury segment and my first import vehicle, previously a die hard Jeep person, now I have seen the light. I am definately going to add some nicer wheels in the near future but my first goal is a new audio/video system. I have found several places that list the stock speaker sizes for the GS300 but is there a difference for the GS400(non NAK)? I don't want to cut the door panels so if anyone knows of some speakers that will fit the factory spots that would make my day. I've also noticed that the "sub" in the trunk is fairly weak and needs to be changed out. Has anyone had any real good luck with a freeair sub in the same factory location or is building a custom box really the only answer. The LCD on the stereo seems to be really dim on some of the numbers and I read an earlier post where someone mentioned replacing it for around $100, anyone care to comment on this. I'll post some pictures this weekend to show the car before I start working on it.Seth
