A bit of a weird one that reared its head on my 2003 GS430. My HVAC only blows red hot, or cold. Like at 16° showing on the display, it's very cold and on 16.5°+ it seems to be easily on max (like 30°C+)
It's a very odd one. It just started yesterday and the car has been parked up for a few weeks with no work recently carried out
At this point I'm guessing it's a mixture flap/servo motor related thing but has anyone had this exact issue before? Any advice very welcome.
Sounds like an issue with the ambiant temp sensor, it’s in the driver side dash, near your right knee. Try cleaning it and make sure the vac line is in good condition

Awesome, thank you for the insight, I will take a look. Could well be filthy or maybe the vac line has fallen off or something. Is there just the one cabin temp sensor?
