Driver Side Window Problem??
I recently noticed that my driver side window (2001 GS 430) tends to make an abrasive "rubbing" noise when going up and down (roughly at the mid way point). I am pretty particular about my lexus so I know that this just started recently as I notice just about every creak in my car. Has anyone had a similar experience on what may be causing this or know of anyway to get rid of it?? I have already tried to slip a cloth to clear any obstruction that may be in the door seals surrounding the glass. This seemed to help a bit as the noise definitely decreased.

With the window down try putting a little Armorall or similiar product on a paper tower and run along the vertical seal (one closest to the B pillar - seat belt) to lubricate it once in awhile. Had similiar problem on my GS430 when it was new. My problem was that the outside seal would be push outward from the glass when the window is going up. Final fix by the dealer was to sand the seal and glass abit (did not see them do it but was told that is what they did). Never had the problem reoccur after the fix. Problem was because the rain repellent front side windows.
