Android Head Unit.
i have installed a 7inch double din in the wifes 2014 santa fe but i have realized the following shpuld be improved before going that way in my Aristo / GS.
1)All double dins seem recessed with tiny buttons.
2) Most Androids dont have a round volume button to make it easy to adjust if no steering controls
3) DD Androids are small 7 unch screens which were great 5 to 8 years ago but i want bigger.
So I started looking at 9 and 10 inch units and realized as in my first android, that the depth does not need to be like an oem stereo as any android of those sizes waste a lot of space and it is probably done for mktg not to scare people when they see it only an inch or two deep. With 4 x45 watts plus 50 for sub i thd better ones that are not high end like Sony Pioneer etc.
These things are like a smart phond but since a smartphond speaker size is only so big....etc.
Anyway i used an Atoto double din for the Santa Fe at about $269 on Amazon. Their top model less gesture
So looking at the 10s there are midels that fit the double din hole but have their screens protruded out on a stick, some adkustable for tilt and height
So all the pictures in the sales propoganda dont show how they actually look fitted from the side.
In a GS 2 we would not want to block vlimate control anx at tge samd time it must look like Lexus put it there.
So I am asking if anyone has seen or fitted such to s GS 2? If so any advice or comments or pics.
Also note there non mainstream Android can cost between 100 and 500$ but mist importantly l believe are the Ram and Rom.
So octa core 2GB x 32 gb is ideal ic nog better.
I dont know how the lower end 1gb x 16gb behave yet. (I may have one to test in z week or two)
Thr point is that most of the cars with big screens have them as an appendage to the dash to some ectent so once it is clean it should do the trick.
I hope this is in thd right subsection as I searched and saw Nexus Pioneer etc but no Android.
Cheers
