Default Double Dim headunits

Hey all,

I was thinking of upgrading my headunit to a double dim unit. I saw a Kenwood at the good guys. Only problem was that the face was not detachable. They did have a sony awia which was however a detachable face.

The double dim plays cd's and tapes.

If anyone here has changed their orginal head units with a double dim please share your positive or negative comments.

thanks,
007

I had two single DIN units in my dash. Same size as what you're talking about. There will still be a space below the stereo, about 1/2 din size that you need to make a plastic filler panel for. Other than that, it fits fine!

Well i installed a double din head unit in my LS,but there is a 1/4 in gap on both sides and a 1/8in gap on the bottom side. Its the DPX 4020 model i believe.Looks awesome at nite and the EQ diffenetly makes the factory speakers sound like their aftermarket ones.

CmputerWiz,any suggestions on how to make a custom mounting kit for the double din head unit?

007 arent you around Irvine,if so you can check out my head unit at the next TEAMLEXSTACY in Irvine.

Just go to the local stereo shop, and you should be able to buy a piece of blank abs plastic. Cut pieces to fit the spaces, and mount them in somehow. You might want to glue them to the headunit itself or something like that.
