Good morning. Got my 2jzgte VVTi installed yesterday and when I try to start it it has really poor spark in the third coil (the one furthest back). It starts ish but mostly just pops and dies. I’ve checked all the sensors and switched ignitor sand nothing helps! Please help. I have the coolant sensor plugged in as well as the maf. I’ve got fuel but am also unsure about how much fuel pressure I should run. I have the return line in and I have fuel just seems like weak spark but not in all the coils just the one . Also if someone could lead me to info on using the under hood diagnostic port cause I have no idea how that supposed to go. Thanks in advance I love this place!
on a second better not i was testing spark and its the front coil for #1 AND 6 THAT IS WEIRD IT ACTUALLY ONLY SPARKED WHEN I HAD A BACKFIRE BUT ALL THE OTHER COILS ARE FIRING NORMALLY!! HELP
Have you moved that coil to another cylinder and seen if the weak spark stays on 1/6 or if it moves with it? If it follows the coil, then replace the coil.
I tried that and it stays with the back coil. I ran new wires to it and nothing. I tested every sensor I could and they all ohmed good. I have tried multiple ignitors I’m at a lose. I even put the ge ECUs back in and It did the same thing. I’m thinking maybe my ECUs is bad. I don’t know?
So in testing today it sparks good once right at the very start of hitting the starter then never again until I turn the key off then hit it again and it sparks once again in that cycle
Yes replaced each one cause my swap didn’t have any connectors for the coils when it arrived. Also had to get another ECU cause the first one look like it swam in salt water could it be because I have not filled up the coolant yet?
Another wierd thing is with the key on motor off the map sensor reads 9.13 psi. That seems way to high also when I unplug the sensor it reads 20 psi. Is this part of my problem?
got a diiferent ecu and it does the same thing going to see if maybe just because the wires all have continuity from ecu to ignitor and from ignitor to coil im going to run new wire today and see if they arent good enough to send a clear signal other then that im stumped
