Default Belt squeal

Well I have a 2001 gs300, with about 163k and it poured hard for about 3 days and after my belt started squealing added some lubricant and it goes away for a bit and quiets down, once I accelerate it kinda goes away but comes back when idling any ideas what it could be?

Try replacing the belt... not that expensive, and not a bad idea to change it anyways.

Will do, just wanted to know if it was something serious, but I doubt it seems like a old belt.

Serious over here is having to replace the long-block.

Start the engine for a bit, without the belt... does it make noise? Try a new belt... noise?

Then you can start working your way down the pulleys...

You sprayed belt conditioner or straight up lubricant?

Well you know it's the belt if you spray it and the noise stops. A bad pulley wouldn't quite down from spraying the belt. When you have the belt off it's a good idea to wiggle your pulleys and look for loose parts. Also pay attention to when you pull on the tensioner for a good hard resistance. If it's super easy to pull and almost needs help to be returned to taut, replace the tensioner.

2nd this question. Putting traditional oil on a rubber item not designed for it is a nice recipe for failure.

Possible causes:

The belt is worn out.

The tensioner isn't working properly

One of the driven accessories is requiring more torque to spin than the belt can provide.

I'd remove the belt and check all the accessories and the tensioner and make sure they are turning smoothly. Then I'd replace the belt with a new one.
