Default Door Lock Actuator Question

Hey everyone!

I just replaced my RR door lock actuator on my '00 GS300. Before it had completely failed and was no longer locking or unlocking the door. After I replaced it, it works for 2-3 cycles. Then it seems to stop working all together. I've checked to make sure that it's not the cable coming lose from the actuator to the lock switch. Anyone have any ideas? I think it might need to learn the lock, but I could be wrong.

There shouldn't be any learning necessary. I replaced all of mine a couple years back and have had no issues since. May be a fault in the actuator or something went wrong in the installation.

I have replaced 3 out of the 4 door lock actuators and no learning was needed. I would double check to make sure your electrical connector is fully seated and all the linkage on the actuator is hooked up properly with nothing binding up.

Did you use a new or rebuilt actuator? What brand? Check to make sure the cable plastic housing isn’t broken where it clips into the door panel

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I verified that it was seated and working correctly. I discovered a couple of things about the symptoms. As a side note, this was one purchased from one of those car part shops usually located next to pick and pull. I found out that then it fails to lock after 2-3 cycles, but if you wait 30 seconds, it works again — my assumption that the replacement actuator I have had a bad capacitor or issue within it. My guess is I will need to buy a brand new or refurbished one online or from the dealer if I am going to want to guarantee it to work.

You find the actuators on eBay for about $15 each. P/N 69140-30110/ 69130-30110 I recently replaced 3 of mine and they all work great now. Got the set of four on eBay $46.00 shipped.
