But yes, damping is key. Quality of the dampers is the majority of what you are paying for when you get better quality coilovers. That's why I always recommend saving up instead of rushing to buy something like CX Racing or Godspeed.

In the time since this thread was started, I've switched to 14k/12k Swift springs on Fortune Auto dampers, a reasonably middle-ground quality setup. I'd still recommend softer springs, like the 10/8 that BC come with or the 12/10 that Tein Flex come with, for a daily driver.

 

I just got some bc coilovers in 16/12 and had the same concerns of them being too stiff. However after the install they ride as comfortable as stock without the bounce.

 

Pretty sure my Megan EZ coilover springs are 10k/8k front/rear

I think it’s a great street rate. Not sure I’d want to go stiffer nor softer.
