Question Tough Decision

I need help in making a decision?? I have a choice in either getting a PI torque converter or RMM big brakes? I have to pick one part per the wife. Which part is more a nessesity? The front brakes look really nice on the car with the cross drilled rotors but then again the TC from what I hear on CL is like night and day...Help guys??

i got the brakes instead, better to stop...since its also a safety issue and they look good. You cant see a TQ, plus TQ install is like $600

Im also thinking brakes. Do you guys think it would look bad if I only have the gig brakes& cross-drilled rotors in the front and leave the rear stock? or should I replace the rear rotors as well(cross drilled)? I plan on painting the rear caliper to match the front. Thanks guys for your input..

I'd say you probably need both. With 285/30/20 in the back, your GS is already slower than most of the regular GS's with 17's, you need the TC to bring back the normal acceleration. With massive 20's, you also need better brakes to stop that extra rotation mass.

I have both on my car, I can tell you no matter which one you start with, you'll get both eventually. BTW, you may also consider the LSD after you install the TC

Thanks guys! I have decided to go with the bigRMM brake set up. My next question is should I also get the rear slotted rotors? Is it necessary? Does it make a difference or is it just for looks.

It is not necessary. It's just for the look to match your front ones.

Eye candy or a significant performance upgrade you feel every time you hit the gas? I did the TC. But brakes are next. In the end it's only a matter of order.

Just so you know... if you are talking about the RMM brake kit (as opposed to the Brembo or AP kit), that kit uses the Supra TT calipers which are HUGE!!!! So, unless you know for sure that your Maya's have the proper offset/hub, I wouldn't just rush out and buy the brake kit.

I would go for the brakes first especially if you currently have the stock rotors.
