Question what is wrong with my thinking

i am having thoughts on my gs, and on keeping it, selling it and getting something else. I have done alot of work to it, but i just feel bored with her, its a weird feeling. any way i can get rid of this feeling, i really want to keep her, but i just don't enjoy her as much as i use to. tc and lsd is in my head, but tranny concerns pop up. I never get to do some nice sprited driving either, just commute to school and work. boring as heck...someone have any advice..or meds.

I have some advice... Go to your local car rental spot and rent any of these small 2 door cars: Ford Focus/Geo Metro/Chevy Cavilier/Honda Civic/ etc etc...drive the rental car for at least a week... Now, after returning the rental, jump in your GS and smash the pedal to the floor... you will see how quickly your feelings will change. You will no longer be bored.... Trust me on this. You will now LOVE your baby again... I think you just need some quality time away from each other...

Damn, I sound like Dr. Ruth!

I have a BETTER one for you! go drive a stock Lexus!! I have a 96 GS300, and right now, I am driving a 03
ES300, and you know what?? I WANT MY CAR BACK. it is just something about the pride you feel when you are rolling in your "creation", its like your own work of art. Then someone hands you a new blank canvas, and your supposed to be happy with that? not for long.

Trust me, take your car in for a oil change, and drive a ES300 loaner for a while, you will be BEGGING for your car back (no slights towards ES owners intended)

fireballs - if your car isn't ultra clean (and mine isn't), get it detailed. That always revives interest in my car for me. LXOGOOD's advice is great - drive some other POS for a bit and you'll LOVE your car again.

Get in your car on a clear quiet evening, roll down all the windows and open the sunroof, and drive around your neighborhood. Reconnect with your car.

Another thing is playing great music while driving your car. Makes me REALLY appreciate the car a lot too.

Another one is finding a quiet stop light, and RIPPING away from the light. Guaranteed grins.

But if you're still bored with your GS, it's likely you'll be bored with something else quickly too, so the car isn't the problem.

Some excellent advice with renting a POS and cleaning the car...i find a trick for me is an occasional paint job to fix any nicks/scratches/rock chips...when i get the car back..i fall in love again...

I swear I thought I was the only one that did "God I have no life, I love a damn car too much" stuff like that. The fact that I am in similar company reminds me why I signed up to this online community!

Default you know..

there are some interesting comments. they are all true if i really thought about it. I even told my mother about it ans she said to just keep the car and save for something else later. Mom's do know best...but the best one would be to rent a car for a week, heck go to lexus and borrow a loaner. It is sad i guess when i do feel this way. But i guess we all think about different things sometime.

Another thing about us car lovers, I think we change our minds ALOT, I dont know about anyone else here. I know that on any given day, I want:

1. A 98+ GS3/4
2 98+ SC 3/4
3 98+ LS 4
4. To keep my car, turbo it, and get some Zaubers!

Hopefully I'm not the only one whose mind changes every 2-3 days!

Unfortunately, I am in this phase right now. I am just BORED of my car. When I tell people that, they give me a BLANK STARE and they say "how the hell can you be bored of this kind of car???" I even had thoughts last week of trading in the GS for a 00 E430?! I don't know, I hope this way of thinking goes away or someone here is going to have to SLAP me and bring me back to reality.
