Lost power on freeway

Default Lost power on freeway

Really scared right now so would appreciate any help. The car is an 04 GS300, with 120k currently, just did an oil change and a transmission fluid change recently.

Was driving up an incline on the highway, around 60mph, pretty steep, all of a sudden when i step on the throttle nothing happens, complete loss of power, so I pull over to the shoulder turn the car off.

When i try to turn on the car back on, its cranking, its turning over, but it wont start. My dad says the car is starving for fuel

Anybody know what could be wrong, im guessing it could be the fuel pump? I called the shop it got towed to yesterday and there saying they looked at it but dont know why its not starting, but wont be able to look at further until Monday now.

So im worried sick, anyone know what it could be?

No dash lights?
If your gas gauge shows below 1/2 and above 1/4 you might be out of gas on the fuel pump side of your tank.
It has happen to some of us here.
The fuel pump has a venturi function as it pumps over the hump from the right side where there is a pick up tube going to the pump. Very rarely but it happens the Venturi function fails.

Hope this is your issue.

More than likely it's your fuel pump...have a fuel pressure test done. Happened to me a while back.

I was thinking it was the fuel pump. Um, my CEL light and VSC are on but im positive its because a unrelated problem. Assuming it is the fuel pump, I live in a small town so my options arent great, but what is a reasonable price of have this fixed assuming they need to replace it with a new one?

I'm guessing a few hundred dollars but it's not too bad to change yourself if you're up for it. The pump itself is relatively inexpensive.

Thank you so much for all the help, it was actually the battery! Got it running again, cost me 300 bucks with labor, I guess it took them a while to figure it out. Turns out I got a crack in my valve cover too that needs to be fixed.

The other problem, the transmission problem, Codes are P0717 and P0980. It's the solenoid in the transmission. Anyone know where to get Shift Solenoid C for the best price? Less then 1000$ to fix both other issues, so im pretty happy.
