Engine sounding noisy
Hi Guys,
My first post here so be gentle lol - wondering if anyone could help or have any ideas?
I have just purchased a GS300 2003 with 77k on the clock and have had for a little over a month. I noticed only a couple of days ago that on a startup its noisier than usual from the cabin
and noisier on the outside when the engine is running. It makes an added slight 'wooing' sound under acceleration however the car drives pretty normal. It almost
sounds like a diesel if that makes sense? Also the noisy engine sounds continue after a cold start.
When I purchased the car they said they had replaced the rad and also did a new gasket as there was a slight leak coming from the rocker cover.
All fluids look good oil is nice and clean so its not that rattle sound.
I have a garage to check over in the morning but would be nice to go in with a bit of knowledge.
This is my third lexus and I've never had experienced this before...
Many thanks,
Dan.

Hi shwalker07
No video I'm afraid but the issue is now sorted - the noise was identified as the water pump bearings, so a new water pump fitted. Initially my
mechanic thought it was related to the timing belt pulleys tensioners which was also replaced. I dropped it off Thursday morning and
the job was completed on a Friday afternoon, which was good.
At least I know that every thing should be sweet for a while in that department.. I had a feeling it was going to be expensive!
Best,
Dan.
