Do you have LED light bulbs in the Garage Door Opener sockets?
Some emit a frequency that interferes with transmitter signals.

Bought a new house in 2018 and was able to program my 2008 IS250's homelink with no problems. But the last three months, the entire thing barely works when I'm pulling up to open it. I have to either drive right up to the door, or back up and down the driveway several times for it to finally engage. When backing out in the morning, there is absolutely no delay or problem. It's just when coming home at night, it barely works. Some nights better than others, but not instant with a long range like the first year.
What could be causing this? Again, it worked just fine for a full year and still works fine when backing out in the morning and closing it.
Appreciate any info. Really driving me nuts and I'm starting to use the Genie remote when it's not working (which works right away).
When this happened to me the garage door company diagnosed it as a bad motherboard in the garage door unit. How I found out was I was renting my house and the renter said the opener no longer worked or only worked sometimes. I had an additional Genie remote in the car and it only worked intermittently or when I was just outside the garage door. It used to work 50ft away. I knew the battery was brand new but changed it anyway in both remotes.

Even after changing the batteries though the problem continued to get worse. Eventually none of the remotes worked and so I called the garage door company out which told me I needed a new unit.

Interesting story you presented. When backing out in the morning and using the remote that came with it, those both work fine. It's only when I pull into the driveway at night is when things barely work. The garage door and unit is only 15 months old. I guess I'll be giving Genie a call, unless anyone else has an idea of what may be going on.

That is not a true statement. I have a 2005 LS430 UL and it works with the LiftMaster garage door opener. But my 2007 LS460 will not work with it. I could use my gateway on the phone but it is much more convenient to reach up and push a button instead of getting my phone out, finding the app, and opening the garage door. However, you have given me some ideas and avenues to pursue. Thanks for the thread, I will call LiftMaster and see if they have a solution.

I was having the same exact issue to a T! I thought I wrote this for a moment lol. I have a 2008 is350, I eventually said F this garage door opener "a newer genie" and bought a new chamberlain. Now I can't get the new opener remote to program with my homelink at all, can't get past the slow blink. So now I just use the actual garage remote 🤦🏻‍♂️
