Default Need Help with electrical

Hey, first time here. Just got a 2000 GS300 from a buddy of mine. Minor issues here and there. The current issue I've been looking into is electrical related. The car had sat for about 8 months, battery was replaced and the car fired right up. He had stated he's gone through 2 alternators in 5 years. As of now the battery is holding voltage, but the power locks, all of them don't actuate, the outside rear view mirrors don't move, the trunk doesn't open remotely via the switch, and the master controls for the windows don't work, only the respective door switches for the windows work, but not in auto. Additionally the car alarm goes off when I open the hood. I figured there must be a common joining point in the wiring somewhere but I don't have a wiring diagram as of now. I will be ordering a manual but if anyone has any ideas for the meantime if appreciate it. Also I have checked numerous fuses, all which appear to be good.

You can find a repair manual here:

Hi all!

I just joined the site, even though I don't actually own a Lexus (several Toyotas, though). I'm trying to research various parts and systems from Lexus cars in hopes of incorporating them into other car projects. I was really hoping I could get this manual, or at least the wiring diagram, but when I click the link, vBulletin informs that I don't have permission to access it.

Any help?

Thanks!

Could just be an issue of CAN Bus programming, maybe someone can chime in on that.

What brand of alternator did they replace it with? Sounds like a cheap AutoZone unit with a lifetime warranty that you have to change out every 1 to 2 years. Should have got a Denso unit.

I think your problem is with the immobilizer. Do you get a flashing security red light right next to the driver window air vent before you put the key into the ignition?
