Default 01 Gs300 Aftermarket Radio / speakers

Im getting ready to start the process of installing an aftermarket radio. Just bought
1) pioneer radio

2)14 gauge speaker wire

3) dash kit

4) wiring harness

ive read up a bunch on it and am pretty sure how to do it for the most part. Remove the stereo and use the power and assesorry wires. Then use the aftermarket harness from the back of the new stereo and attach wires to make them long enough to get to the stock amp. Then do i use the harness i bought and just connect the wires from that amp harness to the stereo harness using the speaker wires? Or do i slice the wires from the amp harness and connect them straight to the wires coming from the stereo harness?also What I知 curious about is, if i buy new aftermarket speakers and make bracket for the speakers to go back into the front slots, should i run new speaker wires to the speakers in the door or is it okay to just use the wires already there?
also any tips or things i should know about doing this?

As far as installing the speakers, I would look at these
Amazon Amazon
I haven't tried them yet but plan to once I replace my speakers.

How did your install go? I'm about to embark on the same project (minus new speakers) and I'm curious as to your lessons learned.
