Default Window Tint Suggestions?

I am going to get my windows tinted soon (metallic tint not an issue, already installed the Clarion antenna on the dash ). My car has a black interior and from searching board recommendations, people are saying to go with 50%. I know that it isn't really all that dark, but I was wondering if anyone had pictures of their cars that have 50% tint.

My other car currently has 17% and that is plenty dark for me...but I don't really want it all that dark...I still want the women to see me I just want to make sure that the 50% window tint isn't gonna look "weak" if you get my drift.....

Also, others have recommended 50% front, 50% rear, and 35% back window as to not get in trouble with local authorities, but still look good.....I'm currently living in Ohio, but I have my vehicle registered in Illinois (no front window tint permitted) with my parents....so I don't get hassled here, but I know I'd get hassled in Illinois when I visit my parents.

I know alot about tints, and have alot of advice 4u. 4 starters forget that silver tint, or 2 toned mirror/black its down right disgusting and country as all hell. Go with a smoke tint, if u have a dark colored car go with a %35 tint that will be perfect trust me, imo the best! U can get the rear window tinted at %20 its makes the entire all around tint look better. So go %35 on all windows, and %20 on the rear.......

Well, I wasn't gonna go with a "mirror" tint....probably just a smoked one. But I'm not sure if I wanna go 35/35/20 on my car. It might be "too" dark...especially since I have a black on black car. Might stand out more to cops...especially since I plan on painting all the chrome trim black on my car

T-man,

Mine has 35% all the way around, plenty of pics in the gallery... IMO plenty dark and still legal here in NC.

There was an old post on GS tint here I'll search for.

EDIT here's one of them.

Here's another

Same here - mine is 35% all around and is just perfect. Keep in mind that the Lexus GS windows already have a factory tint, so the 35% is not really 35%, but probably 30% or thereabouts.

Pics of my car

I bet you've already looked into this, but I'll say it anyway, check your state's tint laws.

NC's darkest allowable is %33....

(looking for the link right now since it contains links to other states - I posted it before -try a search on tint laws)

.....which means that the tint itself is only %35 allowing for the factory tint.

Ahhh HERE it is

And HERE is the link for ALL States
Use at your own risk. I have no idea if it's up to date

FWIW, I have the darkest allowable in 'Smoke' color on my Blue, and I think it looks classy and understated, any you can easily see out and in upon close inspection.

I have a very dark interior as well, and 35/35/20 is perfect. In the day, people will be able to see inside somewhat, but dark enough to keep the sun out, and at night you will have more privacy.

35% all the way around here. And I've been pulled over twice because I live in a state full of tight-asses. Anyway, 20% may be a little too dark for the rear from my experience. Backing up night and trying to see where you are going isn't always easy.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I decided on going with 50/50/35 setup. I'm getting it done this Wednesday. I'll post pics as soon as I get it done Maybe I'll also have my Tein CS's installed by then as well
