Default Megan Racing Vs. Tein Coilovers?

Hey guys, I'm sick of the monster truck of a Lexus I have, and I'm looking for a nice lower. I'm considering buying coilovers the next time I get paid. I have two different options I've narrowed it down to. Megan Racing EZ Street II, or TEIN Street Basis Z.

Has anyone had experience with these coilovers?

How much low have you gotten?

Which is better for the price?

Thanks Guys!

I know alot of people like the Ez Streets because they ride like oem, can lay frame, look neat and drive well!

I had Tein's on my old IS and hated it, worst coilovers imo.

You can find the ez streets for $700 shipped

TEIN has many models of coilover. The Street Basis Z is relatively recent, so probably not what you had. If you could share what you did have and what you didn't like about them, it would be helpful.

I went with Megan's Ez coilovers. I never got around to installing them. I'm in the process of selling my 03 gs430 and have the coilovers still in the box unopened. If any one is in the DMV /northern VA area I will let them go for $650 cash pick up

I know I'm a little late to reply, but I have the Basis Z's, and I'm incredibly happy with them. I was skeptical but decided to give them a shot. Ride is firm but forgiving; just right imho. Build quality seems great, and I've had them for about 20k now.

You shouldn't have problems with the megans. Good budget buy coilovers. You'll have to dial them in on the adjustment *****. I found the best option is to have them dialed in the middle all four corners. Felt like I had a stock suspension.

Installed them. I turned my adjustment ***** all the way to "H" . They feel great and I can really feel the road now. No more body roll either which I'm ecstatic about! Thanks dude.

Default Tein Coilovers

dont get the tein coils, have them on right now and at max stiffness dampening its still soft so it rubs a lot.

^ that's because you can only adjust damping, not spring rates. If you have soft springs, you have soft springs, no way around it. You needed a coilover with higher spring rates. TEIN and Megan both have several options. As you can see, the ones posted most recently are the "Comfort Sport" model.

I have the Tein Street Base Z's here. Very happy with them. OEM ride comfort wise, but way better handling characteristics. Very little body role. They are only ride height adjustable, not dampening. But I'm not interested in that for this kind of car. The purpose most of us are going for is lower, and replacing blown struts which was my case. I like that the shocks and springs they used are perfectly matched as a set and the inability to adjust dampening actually gives me peace of mind knowing that my suspension is how the experts at Tein designed it to be for the car. Plus they are only $425 online.
