I have a 03 GS430 wit a 110,000 miles. I wanna see how fast I can get up to pass 100 mph, but I heard sometimes you can blow your engine or head gasket. So can I or don't risk it?

I have an 03 GS430 wit a 110,000 miles on it. I already replaced the spark plugs wit a whole bunch of other maintenance stuff. But the question I'm asking is it safe to see how fast I can go pass 100 mph. I've heard you can blow your engine or head gasket. So is it safe

LoL why you need to see how fast you can get to 100 for? Check the internet, you can get your times...

anyways... dont know how speed has to do with blowing an engine or head gasket. Either way, I've got 260k+ and do 100+ with ease...

This is the 3GS forums so I'll redirect you back to 2GS (this is 2006+ Lexus GS subforums).

On another note, who told you you'd blow a head gasket, or engine, at 110k miles?

I'm at 120k miles and I've driven over 100MPH all the time, my car's still alive .

Your engine blowing or head gasket blowing at any mileage is USUALLY (not always) the affect of a negligent driver, not taking care of their car.

Good thing you did your preventative maintanence though! Make sure to change trans fluid, rear diff fluid, and brake fluid flushes also! Also check to see when your timing belt was changed, as that should be changed between 90-100k miles I believe (I forget the scheduled maintanences for Lexus, I just go with my gut feeling and replace all my parts early).

Actually the brake bearings start to get really bad at those speeds, you also need to make sure your headlight fluid is full or that will blow a head gasket as well lol
