The OEM lighting is cool but looking for something brighter. Should I just get brighter HID bulbs, 3000k yellow bulb fog lights or go to HID fog lights?
Open to everything. Thought the white for foglights would help out but I don't know what the OEM "K" is on the lights if someone can let me know. Thanks
Do a total retrofit. LS430 or 460 projectors. I have a GS400 with LS430 projectors and they so bright and ridiculously wide when I do turn on my yellow fogs I can't see the fog light laminated on the road. I can easily light up a 10 + lane highway. That's how wide my beam pattern is

+1. Do the 430 retrofit, then purchase CBI bulbs...Done, close thread. If you have questions about CBI's, Google cool blue intense. I have this set up in my car, along with new headlights.

since everyone answered everything else....
K is for Kelvin, its how they rate the temperature of the bulbs. oem for the HIDS is 4300k
Anybody with an 01 or above GS 430 can you tell me how the lights work ? When I go in park it looks like a different set of lights turn on seperate from the drl's. Is that a different bulb? I'm confused.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I might do a retrofit but way later. I was thinking of just getting 6000k bulbs and getting that for now then. Any recommendations for brands or links?
Nice, looked at the links, everything looks solid. Question though, why get the 6k hid kit when we can just buy bulbs since we have factory HIDs? Am I missing something?
If you're gonna replace your bulbs, my 1st choice would be CBI 5500k temp which I do have. very bright and white. Now if your money is tight & you do do a retrofit, my 2nd bulb I recommend & long lasting is the Philips D2S 35w 85122 bulb. Some get as close to 5000k temp. Bright and white. Now ppl with reflector bowls, you need D2R bulbs. Most oem bulbs are Philips 4300k temp.

Just bought the DRLs and fog bulbs
My car didn't come with HIDs. I believe I have the base model or close to it at least.

That sucks man.. whatever, though. I think the 01+ came with factory HID. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a whole set of oem hid lights for the GS if anyone interested. fully assembled with: Bulbs, ballast, headlight leveler included. I even resealed them so they're never fade or cloud up.

There are 3 bulbs per side. The low beam, the high beam, and in the same lamp as the high beam, the DRL which is a 194 bulb.

That's some impressive lighting. Did you do the retrofit yourself?
