So none of the lights come on when you press the buttons or the warning lights illuminate on the dash? Not sure if this is your problem but a quick google of "vsc zero point calibration" and see if that's what you're needing to do.

Are you the original owner or did you purchase this car from someone? Meaning have you seen them illuminate before? Reason I say this is because I have seen cars that have had this issue and really what I found out through process of elimination is that the previous owner couldn't figure out why the lights wouldn't go off in the cluster so they pull it out and remove the bulbs on those indicators. Sounds silly but it happens.

Well, you don't WANT the ABS and VSC light to be on. In theory, if off they are working properly. However, they should illuminate for a few seconds every time the key is in the "ON" position. I'd definitely suggest First checking that center console controls are even connected (plugged in) Simply take a flat head and gently lift up the center console trim (right behind the pwr/snow mode, seat heater and VSC OFF buttons)

Also, what do you mean by the "ABS was bad so you replaced it"? What did you replace?
