Default Q: Are all 2gen trannys e-shift capable?

Need to replace my shifter as I bent the connecting rods taking the motor out. But since my car has e-shift, do I need to get an e-shift shifter? Is my new tranny e-shift? How can i tell/know?

They are all electronically controlled shifts so yes they can, but later models have different connectors than the 98-00

I thought only the 2004 had that option.

It was perhaps an option for '98 but many had it prior to '04.

This is my 1999 GS300. 98-00 USDM does not have it equipped as an option.
I was able to retrofit it by using a different ECU. No change of transmission needed.

This is awesome! I've always wondered if this was possible. Any chance you'd be interested in doing a write up on how to retrofit this function? Is there soldering involved?
