Question Rear spoiler ?

New to the forum, so here goes my first ????

Just bought the wife a 03 GS300 SportDesign. She wants one of the big factory rear spoilers, but the SportDesign has the small "lip" spoiler. Is it possible to place the larger spolier over the sportdesign spoiler? Or...Do you have to remove the small one to fit the larger one? If so, Are the mounting holes the same?

Thanks for the help.

PS: great forums!!

I don't believe the SD spoiler and the "regular" (GS400) factory spoiler share mounting holes. The concensus seems to be that the SD spoiler is just adhered to the trunk lid (no mounting holes at all), so adding the regular spoiler would entail adding the required mounting holes.

In any event, if you choose to remove the SD spolier, take care in doing so, because you can probably easily find a buyer for it here on the forums.

BTW, what color combo did you end up getting? If you're in Orange County, where did you purchase from? M.V. Lexus?

Nice color combo. I asked because I'm currently working with someone at that location to get my new GS300 SD.

Good luck...We dealt with Chad, and were treated VERY fairly.

They seem like a great group down there.

To echo what was said above, I believe that the sport design spoiler adheres with a double side tape(Icould be wrong). If you wanted to add the regular factory spoiler(which I have for sale by the way ) then you would simply have the shop installing it make mounting holes, which is extremely easy to do. I can gaurantee you that you would have a ton of people jumping on your sport design spoiler if you decided to sell it.

Maybe you are the first one on the CL forum that want to replace the SD lip spoiler for the regular spoiler. Welcome to CL forum.
