'01 outer tail light bulb being flakey?
I'll start off by saying that I haven't taken the tail light out to really examine what's going on with the bulb but I couldn't find anything about this when searching so figured I would ask.
I just picked up this GS a couple months back and when I got it the warning light about the bulbs being out was on. There were some bulbs out in the third brake light so I figured that was the issue, which is was part of the issue. However, I still get the warning light coming one pretty often but not every time it's driven. I looked over the car and noticed that it looks as though each tail light has a bulb for the brake section and a bulb for an outer running light. It's that outer running bulb that is out. Thing is if I tap the lens the bulb will come back on. It's not a huge issue other than I don't like the warning light being on and I would prefer the lights to work as they should.
The obvious thing to do is to replace the bulb first and then take a look at the wiring but I was wondering if anyone else had seen something like this and/or if you think it's just the bulb or could it be a wiring issue? Usually a bulb either works or it doesn't so I'm concerned it might be a wiring issue which is definitely a bigger problem. I'm going to try to check it out within the next week.

Dude, just change the bulb LoL If the problem persists, then you can start looking elsewhere. This "problem" has happened to probably a billion people in the last 100 years and half probably had just a bulb problem and the other half may have had a wiring issue... Most likely a loose filament in the bulb, or just a bad connection from the bulb to the harness which would just require a little fidgeting when plugging in.
