I have an irrational fear of snapping ball joints on my car since mine almost went on me a couple years ago. Now, I have lowered my car about 2 inches all around and I was looking into getting RCAs because I hear it improves steering response. What I am unsure of though is if it puts any additional stress on suspension components that might lead to faster failure...
So who is running RCAs and what brand do you have? I saw in a few older posts that someone snapped their bolts so I was wondering if it is even worth spending the money for some?
Any drawbacks to getting them?
I'm running Sage 30mm in the front and 40mm in the rear. Gives me a 1" drop all the way around. I'm running 19s on stock suspension and ride is silky smooth so far.
allso interested in geting some RCA`s, can someone please explain how do RCA`s affect other suspension parts, plus how or if it affect to camber. I have my car lowerd on BC coils and on 18"
RCA's won't hurt anythingbecause they push the spindle up. They actually help if you are already lowered. Take my car for instance, it's lowered 2 inches on Megan coilovers. I could raise my car up 1 inch and take pressure off of the ball joint by getting it closer to it's natural position, then add 30 mm rca to get the car back lower.
My car with sage rca. 30mm in the front and 40mm in the rear. 1 inch drop all the way around on oem 19's. Conservative look nothing to aggressive.
In the front? You'd have to be safety scissors stupid to mess that up. I reckon there is some margin for error with the rear, but it's a really straight forward thing.
