Default First time Lexus Owner

I am currently looking to purchase my first Lexus between style and reliability i don't think i can go wrong... I have also been in love with the GS body style since high school lol

As i am a big music guy my question is... is it possible to swap out the navigation unit in a Lexus and replace with the standard heat and air controls so that i can add an aftermarket head unit and an iPad... I wont be utilizing the factory amp or speakers and am really just looking to retain the function of the heat and air and they will most likely be relocated to either the console or glove box to make way for the stereo install..

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Club Lexus, please take a look at our FAQ/DIY section and try out the new search feature. EVERY question has pretty much been asked and answered in the last 20 years

I was looking around trying to find the parts and it looks like... For my needs anyways... Swapping the heater controls is just plug and play? Found heat and air control and a navigation system and the plugs look to be identical...

It has been done just have to search a bit more through the threats for the specifics. The Metra double din brackets works great for installing after market head units.
I have a Pioneer double din head unit installed in my 01 GS300 however I had the stock pioneer system.

This what you need

Thanks a ton! That's perfect as all i need is the power and ground for the headunit... The planned build is to run 2 6.5 inch component sets in each door and a 12" sub in a 4th order enclosure ported through the rear deck (most likely where the factory sub is now) Dash wise i an going to install a single din head unit (possibly the new Sony hd unit) and an 9.7 inch i pad in the dash... The heat and air controls will land where ever i can fit them either console or glove box...

The hunt for a starting point is on and just got a whole lot easier

Thanks a ton fellas!

You'll need adapters to mount the speakers into the doors. Like these:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016YS6R8K/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1H30859HKAO0Y&colid=2U54EYEI41M26

dont be like the idiot that owned my car two owners ago and just used wood screws to bolt the speakers straight to the door panel.

No adapters needed i'm going to fabricate custom door pods that will mount the the door panel and door itself
