Default '98 GS300 brakes

I need to replace the front pad on my GS300. Does anyone know whether it has wear sensor wires that I need to renew?

There are no sensor wires. Pretty basic brake set up. If you haven't replaced the hardware kit lately (clips, springs, etc..) I would also do that. Make sure the slide pins are lubed and don't stick. Oh and turn the rotors or replace them if needed

Lexo, thanks for that.

Is the 'hardware kit' available as a separate item from Lexus?

I cant think of anything you would need to replace other than pads. But if you're that **** about wanting to replace everything, here are the 2 kits you need:

The fitting kit:

Anti Squeal shim kit:

Many thanks for your reply.

Very true.

But seriously, I see no reason to HAVE to replace them. I'm missing almost half the pieces of both kits LoL Everything works just fine

Replacing the brake pads on these cars are simple. I'm an **** person so when it was time to do mine I did all four with new hardware and new rotors.

I usually don't replace hardware on any other car I've done brakes on, but with all the popping noises I was getting and sticking slide pins it made a difference. Also I used oem pads but bought the hardware kit from oriellys. Used their brand and it appears identical to oem

I replace the hardware kit every time I do brakes. If you bring it in to a dealer or reputable shop, they do the same.
