Question Headrests

Does anyone know if the headrest from either a LX, GX or RX fit a GS? I am pretty sure the LX wont fit because the headrests are bigger but Im not sure about the RX.

The reason I ask is because visualogic sells headrests with monitors mounted in them for the LX GX and RX. The visualogic screen is nearly flawless and a friend has them installed in his escalade with the new Alpine IVA-D900 (the screen with 1.15 million pixels) and the picture on the visualogic screen and the alpine are very close. Plus the cost of the visualogics are only $500 and that includes headrest and everything. Not a bad deal for such a nice screen. And when you sell the car you can easily return it to stock. Thanks for any help you can give me

Thumbs down no luck

sorry rich...i tried this same thing with savv. they claimed that when would fit, but when we went to install them, the posts on the headrests were off slightly so they will not fit in the gs. on top of that, when i tried to color match the interior, the grey of the rx a couple shades darker. (i guess that only applies if u have grey interior, black mite be a different story). it was too good to be true, huh?? i know that all too well.

thanks for the reply. I currently have the kenwood LZ-701w in my headrests and am happy with them but I really liked the visualogic screen. I am going to be getting the alpine IVA-D900 in a few weeks and will be selling my kenwood kvt-911dvd and I was going to sell the kenwood headrests screens and get something that matches the alpine HU, but I guess I will just stick with the ones I got. Thanks again for the reply

Talking Headrests

You can put any headrst on your car as long as it's the sqame color i guess. What I did was buy head rests and just have it fitted cutome, for example i had a 3rd tv put all the way in the back. I got a headrest that matched my leather and had it done custome made.

Hope that helped

Thanks chaskim. If you could do that I would really appreciate it. My car that I am doing it in is the millenium silver gs with the light gray interior. If those two interchange than I might just be switching out my entire A/V setup thanks for the help

Default Headrests for GS and RX

Got some BAD nes the RX are a little big and the posts won't even fit into the GS seat. I wanted those screens for my car too. I have a guy looking for me but I just went to their website and they don't make them for our GS. On monday I have to go to my dealer I'll ask to see if I can check headrests with a GX or LX.

Thanks for checking. it would have been really nice if they would have fit. I really doubt the GX or LX will fit, but its worth a shot. If you hear about any other companies that make the headrests let me know. I will keep searching as well.

I found some headrests with screens in them and they go as big as 8 inches widescreen.
PM or post and I'll give you the name.

What about asking visualogic if you could send them your head rests and have them do the installation? Might be without your headrest for a couple of weeks, but maybe the back ones will fit up front...

GS300Rich,

I was just doing a search on headrest and came across your thread. Did you ever find the headrest you were looking for? I really love the look of the Vizualogic's monitors also (7"), What size were you looking at, their 7" or 5.6"?
I tried to see if any of there headrests would fit the GS also. I though that if I could get one their models I could re-upholster or redye the color. I found out that the post diameter of the GS is 10mm and the post on the ones that that make for the Lexus and Toyota are like13mm I guess that make it easier to run the cable thru it. I called thecompany and they told me that they did not anticipate doing a GS headrest .

But if your looking for the 7" Vizualogic monitor, I found that Nesavision makes the exact monitor that Vizualogic uses ( Nesa and Farenheit amkes the 5.6 one). The 7022 monitor is the one. The picture is great. I could not see any difference between it and the Alpine 6.5. I belive it will fit in the GS rear headrest, but you have to trim the Shroud some if you use it.

Hey just as info the 1st Gen headrest fits in the 2nd Gen, I tried this myself on a 99 GS4. The 1st gen headrest is bigger and it articulates (angles) more. Plus it clicks in place rather than just friction.

Default alpine all the way

Save your money and don't buy myron Davis.I use to sell them and had nothing but problems and the picture quality is horrible. If you are getting the 900 (good choice by the way) then why don't you look into the alpine 6.5 or 5.8 headrest monitors. They are very slim and the picture quality is outstanding!! Go all alpine and there won't be a question on whether you went with the best equipment, because you did.By the way who is doing the installation on your car?Maybe I can recommend a shop to who can give you a good deal on alpine and do some real custom work.
