The only reason i ask is i have been looking at intakes manifolds. For cosmetic appeal to be completely honest. But i noticed that so many of them have throttle bodies. I wasnt sure if there was a reason for that as far as the factory one having a weak point. So they are all probably stock size just billet instead of cast?
The difference with the log manifolds is mainly in the plenum volume and intake runner length and size. The stock runners are narrow and long so the air travels quickly even at low volumes - like blowing through a straw. The log manifolds tend to have fatter, shorter runners, like blowing through a toilet paper tube. The quickly moving air in low volumes increases power in the low rpm range while the large runners with higher flow increase mainly the top end. This is what is really meant by tuning an engine, matching these characteristics to get what you want out of the engine.
