Default Canister Purge Valve question

So I have a 98 GS300 and am getting the PO446 CEL code of course and am wondering where the Canister purge valve is located? I've read that it can be either in the engine or back under the fuel tank? So confused. Below is what it looks like.
Are there any diagrams online?

Thanks guys.

There are two purge valves. One is on the engine and one is on the tank. In my opinion, just replace them both and cover all your bases. A search for P0446 brings up a lot of good results.

PS the valve on the canister takes a few hours and some moderate cussing to remove.

Thanks. So I talked with Lexus and they said there's just the one in the back attached to the charcoal canister. It's the pic I uploaded in my original post. Lexus calls it "vacuum switch valve", but it's the same thing as the canister purge valve... right?

If there is one in the engine, it must be called a different name? And whereabouts is it located? I've searched, believe me.

Yea I found info on the VSV in the back at the charcoal canister, but no info about a VSV type valve in the engine itself.

Hmmm I could swear I saw one on the 2JZ but looking at pictures I can't find it. Replace the one at the canister, that's the most likely culprit.

What up tiguy,
What I know is that the GS400 have two of these valves one on the engine comparment and one on the gas tan area and the GS300 has only one in the gas tan area. But I may be wrong. 🤔 That is the information that I have for one of my friend on the lexus dealer part dept.

I have searched yo. Lots of info but not what I need. Hence why I'm here.

Anyways I found the VSV valve that's in my engine... (pics) So the GS300 does have one in the engine bay and in the rear. But this one is hard to find at auto parts stores. I can find the VSV that's in the rear by the charcoal canister at stores but not this one. Must be a dealer item.

Hey dude,
Don't mind Sakataj, he's bored and has nothing better to do..lol
That part is also called a Canister Purge valve and it's listed under part #9091012188. However, it looks to only be available as a dealer part.
There a very similar variants that are available that are way cheaper from typical parts stores that you might be able to rig to work. (plug the top line) but you run the risk that it wont work.

Good luck

GS400 for that year has different part numbers. Don't think they are interchangable.
