Default Transfer case leak?

I believe this leak is coming from around the transfer case but its oil. Could it be the rear seal? Thanks in advance!

For the color of the oil, I'm 100% that is the main seal or rear seal that you have to change that seal. Good luck with that.

These cars don't have transfer cases because none of them are AWD...that looks to be a rear main seal leaking between the engine and transmission. I would also look and see if the valve cover gaskets are leaking. Sometimes, the oil leaking from those will leak down to where the engine and trans connect, making you believe you have a rear main seal leak.

Also if I'm not mistaken there an inspection hole for the flex plate that has a big rubber plug in it, that is where you would see oil coming from if it's the rear main seal. That plug is easily removable for you to take a look and see if there is oil leaking from inside.

Awesome. Thanks for your help Gents! My mechanic buddy is going to look at it tomorrow. If its the rear main seal, whats the average cost for a job like that? Thanks again!

It cost more to drop the tranny that to do the job to the main rear seal. Every mechanic have different price for that.

I'll try to find the reciepts. I paid either 3 or 4 hundred for the labor. I already had an OEM rear main seal I bought a while back. They also changed the seal on the transmission and drained all trans fluid out of the pan and torque converter so I had to buy new fluid also.

Ended up being the seal unfortunately. Got quoted $600 to do the seal and fix a loose tire rod from an ex BMW master mechanic. Going to call around but everyone is saying that is a good price.
