Some new engine stuff
I haven't been posting much. But I have seen the board frequently. Glad to hear that I am not the only one with the mod bug still ailing me. I picked up a few mods and finally had time to post some pics. One of the mods is the Blitz air filter. Personally, I think it outperforms the air filter that was provided by SRT. The other mod is the Hyperground system. I noticed that my lights seem a little brighter and that the engine seems to idle more smoothly.

blue lex- I had to make a modification to get the blitz filter (4.5 inch opening) C3, type. to fit. It will not fit directly onto the SRT intake. PM me and I can give you the details.
One Hot SC400- Hyperground (sold by Motorex- yes it's the same guys selling the Skylines) system is one of the grounding units that is made. Other names are Earthlink etc. All it does is ground the car better so that the elecrical circuits have less reisistance. The car is usually grounded from the negative terminal on the battery to the chasis and usually one or 2 spots on the engine. The hyperground system grounds 4-5 more areas on the engine and an additional chasis ground to the negative terminal. In theory, a better ground can reduce engine noise (from the stereo) and also give you better spark intensity from the ignition. I was skeptical at first, but I did notice that my lights, espescially the fogs seemed much brighter after I set up the system. You may wanna look at the site

look under performance parts HKS, then look under electronics, then look in applications for circle earth cable
you can also look under T.M. works under the performance section as well.
Dex- I don't really know the price because I was a guinea pig. I was given the unit to try and was told to give my honest opinion in return. If it didn't work, they didn't want it back. If it worked, I was told to keep it since they couldn't resell it as new. I really lucked out.

I need to replace my SRT Filter soon…. I am so sick of trying to use an oil filter kind.
What exactly is needed to make the Blitz one fit HI98GS? Can you pm me?
Has anyone try to make the Apexi Powerintake fit?
Thanks

HI98GS your mods look great.
I got the same Blitz Air Cleaner on my car, I should of got the cool looking red one......... your looks better cause of all the chrome leading to the front of your engine. On mine all I had to do was make the hole bigger were the filter connects to and weld the piece to the long tube leading to my intake My tube length is small cause mine hooks up on the side of the engine & It did take me awhile to find the right size (round) diameter tube. Then I connected my tube to the stock intake with a blue HKS rubber seal. Was very simple to do. All I had to do was find a person to do the welding for me.
Those grounding (earthing) are nice too they come in many diffrent colors and chrome braided too.

hello, i recieved my srt intake today, now mine 4 a gs300. now i had a blue air filter 3" opening from b4 , i tried 2 strecth it but it wouldn't fit than i saw that it fit nice and snugg in the pipe, do u think that if use some adhessive mayb silicone or something that ths could work, since the pipe produce cold air not hot , it shouldn't melt the adhessive and the pipe sucks in not blows out so it will suck the filter towards the pipe, does it sound like a good plan ? does the 1/2 inch really matter that much at the tip of the pipe? i don't think it willl but just thought i'd ask., reason 4 changing filter is my engine bay has had many parts painted blue and i want 2 stay with that scheme. red will look out of place. i was thinking of trying this unless someone knows where 2 get a 3.5" opening filter in blue or black . here's a pic b4 . below. i already know where 2 get the cuplinks in matching blue.
also i'm sorry i not trying 2 steal a post here just a qusetion along the lines of his well done srt modofication.

my engine bay has many parts painted blue. just got the srt intake today 4 my gs300 but they only come with red fitting and a red styled filter, so i went 2 a sie www.thermalflex.com and can get the rings and tubes replaced in blue btu the filter is where i hit a snag, most pipes come 3" but the srt is 3.5". so i tried looking many places 4 a air filter with a 3.5" opening but couldn't find it, today i tried 2 stretch the 3" air filter i had laying around to ther srt pipe but it didn't fit but it fit nice and snugg inside the pipe. if i used an adhessice would there b any issues with it being inside as opposed 2 out side the pipe. ? i hop i made it easier 2 understand

Cant you get a diffrent rubber seal so it attaches on the outside then trying to have it go on the inside, If I read you post right I think it would be better this way.
