I bought a YADA wireless back up camera. I tried all the wires on all the lights and the camera will only work if i press and hold the break pedal. If i go in the reverse and release the camera then the camera wont work. Am i doing this right or there is no reverse light on my car. If there is a reverse light then witch wires do i need to connect to the back up camera. Thank you.

 

What year make and model is your car that you don't have a back up light? Yes you hooked it up wrong. If your car does not have a back up light at you say then simply wire the camera to a toggle switch then all you do is flip the swith to on when you are going to back up.

 

Sounds like you connected it to the brake lamp rather then the reverse bulb. Fix that and it should work correctly.

 

I just did my rear camera last week and the wire I tapped for positive was red/blue and the white/blk for the negative/ground.

FYI, easiest way to make sure is to remove the taillight and look at the two wires that come from the reverse bulb.
