Default Ignition cylinder locked

Hi everyone, I just got home from work and I notice my door isn't closed all the way, long story short somebody tried to steal my car, because there was a drill bit on the carpet and I cannot turn the key, the steering wheel isn't locked and I have multiple keys I push the key all the way in the ignition and it doesn't want to turn. What should I try to do first?

Call your insurance. Get it towed to a dealership. That's what I would do.

If you don't have insurance then find a local car or a part out from someone and get all the lock and keys from it.

If you have the savvy... Remove the cylinder and disassemble it and find out exactly what the problem is. Maybe they stuck something in there and it broke, stopping the key from turning.

You have to remove it anyways, its worth a shot to inspect it and save a buck. Hey you never know, you might pull it out, tip it upside down and what ever is stuck in there may just fall right out,

I don't know if you can get used keys reflashed (although it would be crazy if a dealer couldn't) but yes, the immobilizer depends on the signal from the key that matches the car.

The transponder is coded to the ECU. The key cylinder just has a amplifier that sends it to the ecu.

TW99GS300,

I'm agree with both 100%.
