you obviously have never had the bag/wheel off...

you dont wanna be prying on top of your airbag, even unplugged and discharged. there are little plastic tabs INSIDE the front of the bag keeping it on, would be easier to either remove the airbag (and then remove the explosive part of it from the airbag cover) break those tabs and paint it, then reglue it back on...or get some silver touchup paint and touch it up on the wheel

You can try this if you want. I just try to help you with this idea. Go to ebay and look this item. 131661281876.

First, Unplug the battery cable.

Second, Apply it using a heat gun. Of course use the heat gun BUT not as close to the emblem, just to heat a little be the plastic vanil film to mold the emblem and cut the excess very carefully and with patience. A friend of mine did it this way in his old Mazda car and looks great.

a few people have repainted it using a paint pen. i recently re-did it but could only find shinysilver after visiting 3 craft stores it looks decent but not how i want it so im going to order a chrome pen and apply over it using the silver as a base hopefully

Should have pins with the ends melted to keep it in place, right Brian? Similar to the emblems on the center caps.
