Default Power cuts when cruising under a light throttle

Now that my OCV issues are a thing of the past (or is it my OCD?) my '98 GS300 seems to exhibit a different problem.

When cruising at speed, say 60 mph along the motorway (freeway) under a light throttle to maintain, the engine suddenly loses power, as if the throttle has closed. No warning lights, no misfires and pressing the accelerator further seems to clear the problem.

The engine starts well and fuel consumption is good. This does not seem to happen in traffic but only at speed under a light throttle. This is very random and occasional.

Has anyone experienced this and can suggest a fix?

You feel like theres a lag then it starts taking off when on the freeway?

It is as if I had taken my foot off the pedal when in fact I had kept it in a constant position

My 2002 gs430 had the same problem from time to time. I'm thinking maybe fuel filter?

I would clean out your MAF sensor and clean out your throttle body. My guess is that they are both filthy. Also, make sure your air filter is clean too. If the air filter is dirty, the MAF sensor could be reading incorrectly and relaying incorrect data to the body butterfly valve (ECM). Get a can of MAF sensor cleaner, and Brake cleaner for the throttle body, $15 bucks max for both. Then move on to other more expensive/time consuming items.

Please, don't use a brake cleaner for your throttle body. You not want to destroy the sensor that is inside of the throttle body. Use the correct throttle body cleaner.

Not as yet but I think the MAF sensor and throttle body clean is the way to go.

Connect a fuel pressure GUAGE and. Test drive monitor GUAGE when condition occur. Make sure GUAGE is secure properly.

Yes.... Accelerator sensor located on back of throttle body. Not the tps. Car would run fine for weeks and then boom...no power. Funny this is u could shut it off and it would be fine after. Took me weeks to find it.....part is about 300-400$. Frickin 5 minutes to install!
