New Lexus Owner.. New project..
Hello CL
Little Intro..
I'm a 25 years old middle eastern student in the U.S Taking Mechanical Engineering degree in Texas
Just bought a 1999 GS300 last week from Arizona with 1644XX miles on it.
Drove it back to Texas 500 Miles , 8 hours. no problems except the brake startes whining like a baby crtying and ABS and other ights on the dashboard.
Anyway, the main reason i bought it is to do an Aristo swap On it
maybe single turbo later.
The project:
I've done my homework .. well i tried to get all the infos i need to do the swap
Here are all the infos i found here and there
just need them corrected , if there is anything wrong. maybe i understood something wrong or got it from the wrong person.
1. Buy the car ( done )
2. Buy the aristo swap ( Done just waiting for it to get here )
3. 1998-2001 is the easier swap the harness is the same.
to be hnest i didn't really understand it but i was going to look at them both when the engine gets here
4. the igniter is the same ( GTE vvt-i is the same like the GE vvt-i)
5. engine mounts are the same so it's a direct fit no need to buy or make any brackets.
6. not sure about this one i read different opinions about it. the drive shaft is not the same so i need to buy the gs400 one? or the Aristo one? or the SC400 one? ( I'm going to use the auto aristo transmission A340E )
7. Need to get the GTE fuel pump.
8. traction not gonna work.
9. of course add intercooler.
10. Heater hose nipple thing need to be cut or bend ?
Am i on the right track
Last thing is Engkish is a second languge pls don't start flaming if i wrote somthing wrong LOL
I'll start updating when i start the work on the first week of April

Use the JDM termination caps on the USDM body harness. It connects the pins in a different order if you look at the bottom of them you can see the difference. This is what takes care of the shiftlock. The threads you've prob seen where people had shiftlock issues or had to repin those body connectors did not get those terminators with their engineset.

You just gotta bend that heater core nipple to clear the rear turbo housing if your staying twins.
Let me give you one piece of advice that is worth contemplating. I recommend to bend the nipple and install the heater hose and clamp on that nipple before you put the engine in. You can do it alot more carefully and cleanly before the motor goes in.
The engine will touch the nipple as is when you set the engine in. But to bend that soft nipple without kinking it, and then getting the hose it and then getting the clamp on good is a huge pain once the turbo is up on it.
