Default No heat on driver side, heat cools down when driving...

Ok, so I've been searching for the last week or so. I replaced the driver servo, took off glovebox and checked functionality of all 3 servos on the passenger side. I've read Brian (sakataj)'s very helpful heat posts, I've googled, and done just about everything.

My heat works hot as **** as it should during idle... but only on the passenger side. When I drive nonstop for a period of time it cools down significantly (as in, it wont keep me warm in winter.) The driver side is nothing. Just lukewarm air. This applies to all modes.

1. All servos function properly

2. Heater core is hot on both pipes (checked this in the interior after dropping glovebox. almost burned myself, luls)

3. Flipping the blender door arm on the driver side I can hear it clunk/close and open completely but no change in temp.

4. I flushed the coolant, and topped off with toyota pink but it was the same prior (no heat). The coolant was disgustingly rusty/brown. I've burped it and have been checking it for the last several days.

5. New thermostat is on the way. Engine temp seems normal and sits just ever so slightly above the second mark. Hoping this solves my cooling down issue.

6. I'm throwing a code 11 for the cabin temp sensor (just under the ignition). I'm not sure if this would affect the temp on the driver side?

Any ideas? I just got hit in my 02 a month ago, bought an 03 SportDesign and now all this bs. I'm getting exhausted and stressed from car issues.

Thanks!

I had this issue a couple winters ago. End up being really low on coolant. Bring the car up to temp and park on an incline with the front pointed uphill. Let car cool and check the radiator. My radiator was nearly empty. This was after a timing belt/water pump service.

DO you check the gas level of your A/C system? In my car was very low.

The guy just got water pump and timing belt done too, but it's topped off and burped. Nice and full.

Mcon, how would freon affect heat though?

The only I can say to you drivenGS is. I really was lucky the day that I went to my father house and in my father house was a friend of him that he is A/C car tech the issue that I have on my car and he had gages with him, connect the ages to my car and the gages show that my A/C system was low (under freon). He had freon in his car, he add freon to the system and after that happen, my A/C system work as it should. That is what I can say to you. I know that sounds weird and strange, but it was my experience and what I'm trying to tell you.

hmm yeah, I've read that some people had that issue when their A/C is on, and with low freon where one side blows warmer than the other, but I'm trying to get heat, and getting cold hair, the opposite of that problem.

drivenGS,

You can do this test to see this can help you.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

SELF-DIAGNOSTICS
An Electronic Control Unit (ECU) within A/C-heater control
panel monitors system circuits and stores trouble codes in memory if
problems are detected. All codes, except Codes 22 and 23, are stored
in memory. Malfunction is current if Code 22 or 23 is displayed. To
retrieve stored codes, see RETRIEVING CODES. Codes are displayed at
temperature display. See Fig. 2.
RETRIEVING CODES
1) Simultaneously press and hold AUTO and recirculated air
switches. See Fig. 2. Turn ignition on. All indicators will flash 4
times, at one-second intervals. Tone will sound when indicators flash.
2) A/C system will enter self-diagnostic mode. To end
indicator check, press and release OFF switch. Read codes at
temperature display.
3) If trouble code is displayed, proceed to appropriate
trouble shooting procedure. See DIAGNOSTIC CODE IDENTIFICATION table.
Codes are displayed in ascending order. To slow rate at which codes
are displayed, press fresh air button to change display to step
operation. Each time fresh air button is pressed, display changes by
one step.
4) If tone sounds as code is displayed, problem currently
exists. If tone does not sound as code is displayed, problem occurred
in past and does not presently exist.
Code Diagnosis
00 ................................................ Normal
11 (1) ............. In-Vehicle Temperature Sensor Circuit
12 (2) ................ Ambient Temperature Sensor Circuit
13 ................. Evaporator Temperature Sensor Circuit
14 .................... Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit
21 (3) .............................. Solar Sensor Circuit
22 (4) .................... Compressor Lock Sensor Circuit
23 (4) ........................... Pressure Switch Circuit
31 .................. Air Mix Door Position Sensor Circuit
32 ................ Air Inlet Door Position Sensor Circuit
33 ............... Air Outlet Door Position Sensor Circuit
41 ....................... Air Mix Door Servomotor Circuit
42 ..................... Air Inlet Door Servomotor Circuit
43 .................... Air Outlet Door Servomotor Circuit
(1) - If in-vehicle temperature is -4 F (-20 C) or less,
Code 11 may set even though system is normal.
(2) - If outside air temperature is -58 F (-50 C) or less,
Code 12 may occur set though system is normal.
(3) - If testing is done in a dark area, Code 21 may set
even though system is normal. Shine a light at solar
sensor and recheck codes.
(4) - Malfunction is current. Code is not stored in memory.

ACTUATOR CHECK
1) Perform step 1) of RETRIEVING CODES. When system enters
self-diagnostic mode, press recirculated air button. Each mode door,
motor, and relay will operate at one-second intervals. Press fresh air
button to display codes one at a time, and perform step-by-step
actuator check.
2) Check airflow and temperature by hand. Tone will sound
each time display code changes. Each display code is associated with a
system operating condition. See Fig. 3 or 4. Press OFF button to
cancel actuator check mode.

Replaced thermostat and flushed heater core. Passenger side is hotter and doesn't cool down anymore. Driver side still cold. Mcon I have code 00 normal.
