2000 Gs400 Platinum Edition Woodgrain
Hey guys,
building some accessories for my interior and am trying to find out what 3m vinyl would match the woodgrain the closest. Another option would be to stain the wood I am using, but I feel like it won't be as close. If you have any experience with this, please chime in

I'm making one of those VIP trays, and I feel like people have used 3m material or something of the like in the past? I don't think VIP'd out water transfers all of their trays (who knows I could be wrong)
I don't ever recall seeing a tray that had 3m applied, although I could be wrong. As for VIP'd Out, they can do pretty much anything you want done to a table/tray, I remember seeing them do one where the top was Lego blocks lol.
But yeah, the easiest way would be to water transfer it although you could try taking it to Home Depot or Lowes and they should be able to find a varnish that would match (assuming you're using wood).
EDIT: Try asking Kyle Harty what he used since he built a rear console similar to the Garson/DAD second cabinet not too long ago.

James is, or rather was a member on here, you could ask. He's the owner of Viped out. I believe at first he was just staining them. I wouldnt doubt though that its laminate. I'm sure if you google burlwood laminate, you'd probably find it.
oh and I didnt see the "building" part
thought you were doing some touch ups for your dash or something.

If you're still looking for ideas, I brought a sample of the wood I was using and one of the factory pieces to Sherwin-Williams and they color matched stain for me. Then used a pour on "bar top" finish to get the high gloss look.
