Default Update on my GS400 TT

I have recntly received a lot of pm's and emails (mostly on my site) asking about the status of my car. So here it is:

The car is currently at SRT as the rebuilt tranny has failed. The car was towed there two weeks ago. The current time frame as per my conversation with Muhammed is 4 more weeks untill it will be opened up. The car still needs a fuel system as well as something that will give it the ability to shift properly without several second delays. Not to mention idle control adjustment . Hopefully I will get a chance to enjoy it sometime this year as it has seen MD for a total of 7 months now.

PS. It has been quite some time and unfortunately (as soon as these things are addressed and corrected) my car will probably go up for sale. I am preparing to buy a house and will need the extra cash so if anyone is seriosuly interested, you know where to find me.

oh crap, this is insane. you spent so much on the car, then another 30k for the tt, and without driving it much enough and you will have to sell it soon that sux man

but umm..... selling your car with all the mods including the tt is going to be super hard

Ouch! Seems to be the way things are going, spend a butt load of money on the car only to try and sell it off. Guess I should stay away from the supercharger, then...

Well, that's the way it goes. Interest rates are still low so I figured I would go ahead with it. Not sure how much longer they will remain this way. Either way, I have all the stock parts so I might sell the TT kit by itself as well as other stuff and then put the stock parts back on. Say.....anyone interested in a TT kit including ROSS Forged pistons and all the other goodies such as Spearco intercooler and fuel system and electronics for a GS400 for 17K? Half price of the retail 35K price tag. Lol. Heck, maybe I'll just copy it and sell it to CL at a special price of 12K. I would imagine there would be tons of interest as that would be 1/3 of the retail price. Lol.

Mariusz, I dont know about those rates my man. Im in the mortgage biz, those rates aint looking to good at the moment. They have jumped up significantly in the last two weeks. i geuss they are still low compared to a year and a half ago, but I have been used to these low to mid 5% rates.

Then again, who knows where they will be by the time you get the ride back. In the mean time, I need to start saving towards that 17k I need for your TT set up! I only have 16k to go!!

Question i am curious

are you selling the car for the simple fact you need money or the fact its being a pain in the butt? if you can do a 35k+ mod on a 50k car...are you really in need of funds that bad?

Majority of the $35k TT price tag come from labor. When you're talking about revert the car back to stock, you'll need to open the engine again to remove all internal upgrades. Mariusz, are you having too much $ to burn by just taking your 4-l v8 engine in and out like removing your golf bag from the trunk?

I'd say just list it on Dupont Registry and sell it for a good price

fireball gs400, I'm selling it for too reasons. 1, I need the money and 2, this whole project has taken way longer than expected for me to be happy with it. Having an extra 60K+ towards the downpayment would be nice.

Jacob, I have a good friend locally who could possibly help me with that incurring minimal cost. The Dupont Registry is a good idea. I will try doing that.

Mariusz, sorry to hear about your misfortune.
I hope the trouble with the car will be sorted soon so you can enjoy it for the little time you have left with the car.
Good luck man!!!

Thanks Richie. I was actually hoping that I would be able to maybe enjoy it a little. We'll see.

I can imagine how you must feel right now. You waited a long time for it.
Keep the faith man, I'm sure it will all come out OK.

Mariusz,

Thank you for being daring enough to try it in the first place. I for one would be way too chicken to fork over that much money into a TT project for the GS4. The good thing is that through your example a lot of us will think twice about saying/doing a large scale performance mod like this. It is just not an easy thing to do even IF you had the money....
