Default Slipping when accelerating

I notice a slight slip when accelerating hard from a dead stop. Possibly drive line or rear end related. Has anyone else experienced this? There's nothing in the trunk sliding around.

Sure it's not transmission related? Does it feel like it's in neutral for a split second?

It does feel like it's in neutral for a second. Then it grabs and goes. It won't do it unless I'm hammering it. It might be tranny related. IDK. I'm just gonna drive it until it isn't worth fixing anymore.

Thanks.

Traction control light doesn't flash. It might have something to do with my front wheel sensor being broke/not working when my lower ball joint failed. The VSC light is on because of this. Hmmm.

Try Lucas trans fluid, Don't beat on it and it may last a while.

Check trans mount and rubber driveshaft "joints"

Mine does same. Trans is fine, best to leave it alone. I am betting my trans mount is getting tired. If you take off gentle, fine, if you take off "normal" or slightly aggressive, it feels like the wheel spins a half to one turn or so before you take off right?

Yea I'd check Trans mounts, and shafts joints along with all the bushings. I def. wouldn't put Lucas Trans fluid in my Trans that's for sure, you may want to reset the cpu as well it could be also doing that because it's been accustomed to slow take offs. Reset it and drive it hard for a bit, see if it clears up at all. Also obviously check your OCV clean that thing out.

Just ordered a westar tranny mount. Let's start there. It is idling a bit rough too.

Thanks Gents.

Yep, same here. Hopefully someone totals the car for me; which wouldn't take much. It's probably worth $5500. But it's still a nice driving car that's 15 years old.

Trans mounts are likely shot by 200k (mine 237k and I think mine is getting loose). All depends on the driver. If they are nailing the gas heavily daily, much sooner, if they drive very gentle, very long.

Mine has a small slip feeling on take off if get on it just a little. I will get to it this summer. But I know that it isn't trans friction related. It has to be driveline (bushings) somewhere. I injured the bursa on my kneecap so I can't get down on my knees for a while so it will wait, it has all winter....

Have someone stare at each tire when you accelerate and watch it. See what is going on, wheelspin or ?

Try this, Foot brake hard and give it throttle, feel if you feel it. If trans slipping it will probably get worse, if mount you will feel almost same feeling as you do when you are driving. It will "slip" and just load up on the brakes. Don't hold it long, the heat build up is incredible. So do it only as needed.

Or possibly the delay due to fly by wire throttle?

Could be, mine, no, mine's a GS400. But the GS430's could potentially have more of an issue. My wife's 04 RX330 DBW is fine, no issues for the most part until you nail it hard when you NEED it and it isn't there....
