Default New Carpet

So does anyone know where I can get brand new carpet other than the dealer? Trying to redo the interior on my gs.

i been thinking about cleaning it good and maybe using dupli-color vinyl and fabric spray for it, obviously removing the carpet from the car. That might be another option to think about if you want.

I can vouch for the pressure wash, I've done that with both tan and black carpets and they came out real clean and smelled a lot better. Drying wise, I left them out in the sun to dry and took my shop vac and both sucked and blew the water out, but It still took a maybe a day and a half to fully dry. I took a before pic but not an after pic, otherwise I would post the pics my work.

I would go that route but I was looking in something more of a custom job. I don't want to go to an upholstery place but if that's what I'll have to end up doing.

how difficult is it to swap carpet out? I've seen many do it over the years and have always pondered the idea to break up the ugly Tan.

wellll, you need to take out the front and rear seats (just the lower on the rear,) and the arm rest/lower console(which is hooked in both foot-wells.) The carpet itself is held in place by a few tabs along the tranny tunnel, some Velcro tabs by the fuse boxes and two black tabs under the butt cushion in the back. Both of which I had to destroy in order to remove the carpet... It really doesn't take that long but you need to take care when removing the front since they are heavy as fug and the bottom rails will scratch the fug out of anything they touch.

you can also see just to the left of where the driver's seat is mounted a cut in the carpet. I did that so I could stick my hand under it and grab the eyelets that hold on to the floor mat clips, because they fell through. So I pushed them back up and re-glued them in place. you can also see those tabs that hook onto the top of the tranny tunnel.

I've been getting quotes from auto upholstery shops, and they beat the price of the dealer kit by $hundreds of dollars.
